The Party Hosts

Studiorouge Commercial

As well as trading as The Party DJ I’m also very proud to be part of The Party Hosts with Alan and Gary. The Party Hosts came about because the three of us are great friends, share values, had all trained with Mark and Rebecca Ferrell among others, and live fairly close to each other. We originally got together to offer back-up for our clients in the event of something unforseen happening to any of us just prior to a booking. We then decided it might be a good plan to develop a brand that we could market and build together.

It’s now about a year since we got together and things are really starting to take off. Yesterday we launched our Wedding Entertainment Show – our weekly video tips on planning your wedding from an entertainment perspective.

We also started The Party Hosts blog here The Party Hosts

This weekend will also see the start of another of our Party Hosts projects … but we’ll tell you about that next week, when we should have some pictures.

Finally, for now, we have also been entered for the 2014 Wedding industry Awards

Steph & Danny’s Wedding Party

New Forest Wedding DJ

Here’s a very quick video from last Saturday’s wedding party for Steph and Danny at the New Forest Lodge Hotel in Lyndhurst. Their whole day was full of fun with casino tables after their wedding breakfast and then a photo-booth and me for their evening party. It was really a fun day for a lovely couple with lots of very special moments.

Alex & Jeremy ~ Thursday 29th June 2012

THIS is the reason I came back to DJ’ing!

I stopped DJ’ing in about 2000 when I opened another business that needed all my focus and if I had continued DJ’ing I”d have had no time left to spend with the family. Our new enterprise was a fabulous experience and was initially very successful but as time went on things got harder the pressure sucked out any enjoyment we gained. About 4 years ago Ce, my wife, suggested that I consider returning to DJ’ing because I was always passionate about it. I had been asked to play at a number of events in the interim and had to decline because I had no equipment and my music library wasn’t totally up to date – we often attended these events as guests and I frequently regretted the fact I couldn’t help. This wedding really confirmed to me that I made the right decision to come back.

I’ve known Jez for around eight years, he actually worked for us for at least five years and is a really lovely guy, so when he contacted me and asked if I’d be available to DJ for his wedding to Alex I was absolutely delighted.

The wedding was held at the Langtry Manor Hotel in Bournemouth and was my first outdoor ceremony. The whole day was full of beautiful touches reflecting Axy and Jez’s characters. The Bridal Party entered to “All I Want Is You” by Barry Louis Polisar, their ceremony featured a lovely poem about two dinosaurs, their family and friends sang “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” accompanied by a friend on the ukulele, and there was a lovely rendition of the Etta James classic “At Last” sung by a member of the family. The new Mr and Mrs Hood and their wedding party came back down the aisle to “One Day Like This” by Elbow.

Their were numerous special moments throughout the day and their evening reception really rocked, but for me it was all about doing what I really love for people who, five years ago, I wouldn’t have been able to help.

Axy and Jez, thank you so much for allowing me to take part in your very special day. I wish you all the happiness in the World! To the Blatchford’s, the Hood’s and all their extended family and friends, thanks for making me so welcome and for making my role so easy.

Here’s a video I’ve cobbled together from my snaps – you can see why I’m a DJ and not a photographer or a videographer!

Father Daughter Dance

So, how about a father daughter dance. I’ve done a few really nice ones – but never one like this (yet) 😉

DJ Hank’s American Cousin

In the past you may remember I’ve posted some videos by DJ Hank, who looks a little bit like me. Well, I’ve just discovered a video by someone who could well be his American cousin – there is certainly something about them that seems very similar and they seem to face the same kind of problems.

I believe the video was created by Mike, a DJ from Sacramento, who runs a company called Mr D.J. Service CLICK HERE to go to his website and see all the fabulous things he does.

Fleming Park Fashion Show

You may remember I provided the music for the Fleming Park Wedding Fair a few weeks back, well here’s a video of the fashion show.

The show was put together by Valerie from VA Productions and featured dresses from Mojgan Bridal Wear in Bournemouth.

The video was shot by Video 4 a Day

Wedding Tips

We are now well into the wedding season and I’ve had a very busy last couple of months. Seeing so many couples dreams becoming reality in such a short period of time is a real joy, it highlights so many great things but also occasionally throws up one or two issues that could have been addressed at the planning stage.

As I’ve said before, people don’t always talk to the DJ until after they’ve booked almost everything else. This is a shame because DJ’s see a lot of weddings and have lots of good advice to offer. I did a couple of tips videos – I will get some more done soon. If you are planning your wedding give me a call and book you free, no-obligation, chat and I’ll help you with far more than just the music.

Here are my two tips videos …

and number two on choosing your venue …

Help Me Find A Venue ~ Please

Last week I did this YouTube video, it’s aimed at venues who want to book a DJ who really cares about delivering great service. I’ve emailed it to most of the venues local to me and it’s been watched a few times, but so far no response.

If you know someone who might be interested please forward it to them, thanks.

December 2010

Sorry the post have dried up a bit – we have a lot going on!
You may remember we talked at the beginning of the month about Cath and Paul’s Wedding and the DeVere Grand Harbour comedy nights – well here’s the video.

Keith & Georgina’s Big Day!

Here’s another Wedding video from earlier this year. Please remember, these videos are just a bit of fun – we don’t do videos, we do disco’s!

Keith and George got married on 31st July at Elmer’s Court in Lymington. It’s a beautiful venue and the team hosting the Wedding did a fabulous job. CLICK HERE to find out more about Weddings at Elmer’s Court.

We took the whole show for this one, friends of the happy couple had collected photo’s and booked our screens as a surprise. You’ll see we had photo’s of the Bride & Groom as children, teenagers, right up to date, including pictures of their Hen and Stag nights so that all their guests could see what they got up to. We also added some pictures taken earlier in the day so that evening guests could get a flavour of the ceremony.

Keith and George have only just got back from an extended honeymoon, which is my excuse for not editing this footage sooner!
