Bonkers!

I am still here, it’s a very busy August this year so forgive me for not posting for a few days.

I’ve had a few Friday weddings this year ~ I love Friday weddings ~ one from a couple of weeks ago was for for Emma and Shaun and it was full of amazing touches – so many I’m not going to share them all with you. From their carefully chosen ceremony music to their after-party playlist it was epic! Emma’s attention to detail and Shaun’s passion for fun really shone through.

They chose the Southampton Hilton for their venue – this was my second visit and yet again I was really impressed by the service the guests received and the support and hall I was given the Hilton is well worth checking out if your looking for a venue in the Southampton area.

Shaun’s speech was one of my highlights, it was written as a poem and I found this section very moving – just check out this video and please excuse the photographer’s back.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Emma and Shaun’s wedding day everything they wanted.

Saturday’s Wedding

First kiss as a married couple

First kiss as a married couple

Last Saturday’s wedding of Jen and Olly at the excellent Beaulieu Hotel was full of very special moments.

I was delighted to provide services throughout the day, from Ceremony music through to the last dance.

Jen had picked a beautiful song by Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville called “All My Life” for her entrance. The Bridal party entered to an instrumental version and then I faded over to the original vocal version for her entrance with her Dad, they arrived at the front at the end of the first chorus – it was perfect.

I’ve got so many happy memories of Jen and Martin’s beautiful wedding at Marwell.

It’s been great to keep up with them both on FaceBook as friends and I’m looking forward to hearing some more great news from them soon 😉

Sarah & David ~ Friday 13th September

New Forest Wedding Host

Friday 13th September may sound like a strange day to get married but for Sarah and Dave it’s a very special because seven years earlier on that very date they got together as a couple, seven years after they first met! So fourteen years since they first met, they finally got married on Friday.

New Forest Wedding MC

They got married in church and then travelled the few mies to Foxlease, just outside of Lyndhurst. The site is well known as a camping centre for Girl Guides and is used by a wide range of organisations. The wedding breakfast and party were held in a marquee located in the walled garden. I was their master of ceremonies and provided music throughout the afternoon and evening. Their celebration was based on a very relaxed vintage afternoon tea theme and the atmosphere was lovely as friends and family mingled and chatted.

Vintage Wedding entertainment

I introduced all the wedding party into the wedding breakfast and then the speeches before everyone settled down to a wonderful afternoon tea of sandwiches and homemade cakes provided by the excellent Hel’s Kitchen from Lymington. After the meal there was a lovely slideshow which combined pictures of Dave and Sarah growing up, we also put together one of our special Wedding Day Quiz’s for the guests to complete.

Then it was time for the evening guests to join us and we started the evening party with Sarah and Dave’s Love Story which prompted plenty of ooh’s, ah’s and laughter. Then it was time for their first dance, we also had a “Guess The First Dance” competition but nobody got the right answer.

Foxlease Wedding Disco

There was a fabulous Hog Roast and then we got the party going. Sarah and Dave had set up a FaceBook groups for their friends to share ideas and requests for the party so there was no shortage of songs for us to play.

Marquee Wedding Disco

If you are looking for a marquee wedding I would recommend talking to the people at Foxlease. The marquee was lined and dressed by Finest Marquee Hire, talk to Michelle and the food was provided by Hel’s Kitchen contact helen.

Katie and Andrew

Sorry, yet again I’ve neglected this blog – I have loads to catch up on so please keep an eye out for more posts very soon!

Kings Court DJ

Last Saturday was Katie and Andrew’s wedding and I was their evening party DJ. They used the FaceBook group method for collecting music ideas from their friends and, once I’d added in their choices, I had about 7 hours of requests to fit into about two and a half hours.

We had a LOT of fun and I’ll post more about it soon … I promise … honestly … you just wait 😉

Ellie & Charlie … continued

Party at Kingston Country Courtyard

The evening reception saw even more guests arrive for a brilliant party. We added our photomontage screen and everyone flocked around to see the pictures of Ellie and Charlie through the years. We also added some pictures that we took during the day. I’ll post a separate post about the photomontage service soon.

Wedding at Kingston Country Courtyard

With ten minutes to go we got everyone back up on the dancefloor and then put the happy couple back in the middle of the dance floor for Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. Everyone formed a big circle around them and started to sing along.

Wedding Circle of Love

As the singing got louder the guests all squeezed in on Ellie and Charlie for an enormous group hug!

Kingston Court Party

Finally, family and friends made a “guard of honour” and Ellie and Charlie went through saying goodbye and thank you to the “Beautiful Day” track by Rattled.

Ce and I had an amazing day and would like to thank the new Mr & Mrs Clifford for asking us to share in this wonderful occasion.

Ellie & Charlie ~ 11th May 2013

Ellie & Charlie

First, I’m sorry ~ I’ve been so busy I’ve neglected my blog. If you don’t already know I do have a FaceBook page and I do post their too – search The Party DJ and you should find me.

Last weeks wedding at Kingston Country Courtyard was absolutely beautiful. Kingston is just passed Corfe Castle, an absolutely beautiful part of rural Dorset.

I’ve known Ellie since she came to my other business on work experience from school, she went on to work part-time with us for a while, and I was really touched when she asked me to DJ for her wedding to Charlie. They are an amazing couple who really know how to enjoy themselves and their wedding was crammed full of wonderful moments.

Charlie arrived in plenty of time with his Best Man, brother Andy, Ushers Lefty, Dan and Adrian, and their two dogs Kia and Roco who behaved impeccably (well almost … the dogs that is!).

The Bridal Party entered to “I Won’t Let You Go” by James Morrison with Bridesmaids Kelly, Stacey, Becky and Ellie’s sister Rachael coming in before Ellie and her dad Phil.

Ce, my wife, assisted me and we supplied a full package of services including ceremony music, uplighting, master of ceremonies, background music, microphones for speeches, photomontage display and evening disco.

Wedding cake at Kingston Country Courtyard

The newly weds went back down the aisle to a version of The Levellers song “Beautiful day” performed by Welsh band The Rattlers, and then went for a drinks reception and photo’s with photographer David Lewin from Simply Weddings.

The Wedding Breakfast was absolutely delicious and Bobby and her team from Kingston Country Courtyard did a wonderful job. Among the many beautiful touches was a fabulous wedding cake made with love by Ellie’s cousin Michelle and Aunty Liz.

Kyrah & James @ Wick Barn

I was delighted to act as MC and DJ for Kyrah and James at their fabulous wedding back in February. This video is made up of photo’s and video footage snapped by my Party Host colleague Gary Evans ~ please note we are not film makers, we are Party Hosts who haven’t been to a boring wedding in years! We’d like to thank Kyrah, James, their family and friends for allowing us to play our part in an amazing day.

Wick Barn and Strawberry Field Catering were absolutely brilliant.

Just a very quick post about yesterday’s wedding at the lovely Wick Barn

First I must thank my friend, and Party Hosts colleague, Gary Evans for his help throughout the day. I’ve had some vehicle issues and Gary very kindly offered to act as driver, roadie, support team and photographer – what a legend.

This was my first time performing at Wick Barn. I visited with the clients last year and was really looking forward to playing there – I wasn’t disappointed. The Barn is a lovely setting and under the expert supervision of Hannah from Strawberry Field Catering the day went really well. For more information about Wick Barn CLICK HERE.
